Arbitrage Trading - Part2 - Getting Started 15 Oct 2008
When getting started with sports arbitrage trading, bet small until you get the hang of it. Sports bets are a combination of skill and chance, in the case of sports arbitrage it is more of skills than chances. Remember, take it slow at first. You will get the hang of it soon enough but for a start, make your bets small. Some experts highly recommend that you start with what they call ‘paper trading’. Go through the motions, pretend to make the bets, pretend to put down the money, and learn what you are doing this way. You will risk nothing but gain valuable knowledge and experience. Personally, I feel that you should place bets below £1, this is even better than paper trading. No matter how eager you are to get started, nobody wants to toss money from a window or flush it down the toilet. By jumping into arbitrage betting, or any betting for that matter, you may be doing exactly that.
Arbitrage Trading - Part1 - Definition 14 Oct 2008
Betting on sporting events is almost as common as going to the games themselves. All across the world, there are many people placing bets on what they are being told are ‘sure things’. This however is hardly ever the case. First things first, there are no 100% safe bets. The word arbitrage is often associated with such phrases as ‘sure thing’ or ‘sure bets’ so be warned. Even the safest bets come with some risk. Sports arbitrage trading is essentially buying both wins and losses, knowing that the profit will come in no matter what. The better makes at least two bets with two different bookmakers a.k.a bookies.
Arbitrage Opportunity - Cricket, Golf, Snooker 13 Oct 2008
Sports Arbitrage Opportunities For Cricket There are plenty of arbitrage opportunities to be found in cricket. As with any other sports, it is important to understand different bookmaker rules. In county cricket this means knowing how bookmakers treat draw matches, by far most will refund stakes in the event of a draw but a few of them do not. In the national games, again you have to see how bookmakers will treat a tie, most will return stakes but again there are a couple of them that do not. After you check the rules, you will be comfortable placing arbitrage bets & making a consistent income from them. The key to finding arbitrage opportunities in international cricket is to have a large number of foreign betting accounts. Different bookmakers operate to different profit margins. Foreign ones often take lower margins which create arbitrage opportunities between them and the British bookmakers. Do keep an eye on the cricket news for events that can change prices, quickly with some bookies and very slowly with others, thus creating a nice pick of arbitrage opportunities.
Arbitrage Opportunity - Football, Soccer 12 Oct 2008
In soccer, arbitrage opportunities are almost endless thanks to the global coverage of every major league in the world. OddsExchange, an odds comparison site is very useful in finding arbitrage opportunities, not only for soccer but other sports as well. There are so many bookmakers that offer soccer results and that is a very good thing for us. It ensures many opportunities to pick up easy profits. It is important to note that in UK, many of the bookies will compile similar odds so you would not find many arbitrage opportunities between 2 UK bookies in an English football game. However, there are different odds to be found with European bookmakers which will lead to arbitrage opportunities for you. In your journey to hunt down arbitrage opportunities you should open accounts with as many online bookies across the world as possible.
